Along with Jordan and their sister-Jenny,

Josh is also proficient on piano, guitar,
and harmonica.
ANDREW YANCEY
Andrew Yancey grew up in Ormond Beach
at Riverbend, and moved to Tallahassee with his family in Junior High.

and keyboards for practically all of his life.
Kanon's History
Kanon, a Christian acoustic-rock group,
was formed in early 1999 by the members of the youth praise team at Riverbend Community Church of Ormond Beach, FL. The group
began learning and rehearsing songs written by member Drew Hodge, and performed their very first concert on May 9, 1999.
Over the years, Kanon has been given
the opportunity to minister through music hundreds of times, and some large and very exciting venues: everything from
chapel services to pre-race festivals at several racing events, most notably the Daytona 500 and the Pepsi 400. Kanon was
also the featued pre-game performer for three Orlando Magic games during the 2000 -2001 season, including the team's
highest attended game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The group has also have had the opportunity
to work with other Christian Artists including Morgan Cryar, Moxie Davis (former Sundry), Brother's Keeper, and a few others.
One contest Kanon won was in February
2001: Kanon won the Premier Records Talent Search, a competition with over 120 Christian performers against one another
in Orlando, FL.
Kanon was awarded the Grand Prize,
which was a three-song recording project in the Nashville studios of Premiew Records, owned by Morgan Cryar. Instead
of the three-song project, Premier Records offered the Kanon boys the opportunity to record a full length album.
Recording of the group's first self
titled, debut CD was completed in June of 2001 and released on August 24, 2001.
What People Are Saying
About Kanon...
Matthew Turner, music editor of crosswalk.com,
says, "Amazing...their sound is a mix of gripping vocals and acoustic rock all while pulling off four part harmonies...it's
great!"
Michael Breidenbach, president of Frog
Rock Music says, "It is rare to find a group of young men so musically talented, dedicated to their craft, and devoted to
Jesus Christ. I know they will achieve great things through Christ, who they serve in excellence!"
WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING ABOUT THEIR NEW ALBUM?
"Kanon caught my attention right from the first listen. These
six young men set forth a passionate proclamation of their love for God with powerful lyrics, intense vocals and balanced
production. Running the gambit from power ballads to rollicking worship-rock, every one of the ten exquisite tracks
is a winner. In the same way that the stylisticly-similar band Casting Crowns has resonated so powerfully with
listeners, Kanon's music is pleasing to the ear and nourishing to the spirit. Easily one of the finest, freshest
projects I've heard in the past year."

What Does Daywind Records have to
say on their new artists?
"Modern worship...God-centered
rock.
This begins to describe the sound of Kanon, six young men who deliver songs of worship and devotion with an earthy
edge.
Drew Hodge (lead guitar, vocals
and principal songwriter), Heyward Evans (lead vocals), Josh Winings (bass), Jordan Winings (rhythm guitar), Nathan Hargrave
(drums) and Andrew Yancey (keyboard) hail from Ormond Beach, Florida, where two of their fathers serve as pastors of Riverbend
Community Church.
These talented young men, ranging
in age from 19 to 25, serve as the praise band for their church. Having spent years playing together, they emerged as the
winner of CATS - Christian Artist Talent Search, which was televised on the Inspirational Network.
Kanons self-titled
project establishes its sound in a setting reminiscent of Third Day, Edwin McCain and Caedmons Call. Here, Kanon shares poignant
stories of redemption (The Sound Of Truth), driving testimonies to Gods goodness (Taste And See), and honest songs of surrender
(My Only Hope).
Produced by Stephen Gause (Derek Webb), Kanon offers a fresh voice and moving melodies in an impressive
debut."
